What solace lies in the arms of fate
-The ill embrace of uncertainty
When did I leave this in other hands
-To be pulled down at chance
Ripped away by destiny-claws
Am I another of fate's possessions
Dwelling the lie of freedom
Just another straw pulled at random
Reclaimed by deceiving time
A silent judgement I can not overrule
Drawn back into the origin-vortex
Uprooted and ground to dust
Retracted into anti-existence
A magnet repelled by life's polarity
Denied the self control of fate
we flow suspended in semi-life
Until the ever imminent day
when oblivion claims our breath
Nowhere indefinitely
Not dead, not alive
Existence-patterns ripped of symmetry
as will and fate divide
Have I appeased the gods of fate
Am I allowed another day
Must I die to escape
the scanning eyes of death
Very dramatic photo, I love the composition and the focus. I might have put it on the scissors myself but I think it looks better in your way. The feeling in the photo, it just demands to get attention, saying this might be you pulled out at random, like in those games in amusement parks: you choose one string, pull and never know what you're going to get. I also like the harshness of the strings, it's like they've all been touched with those scissors, tested if they still deserve to hang there. Great work.
This piece has another dimension in my POV. I wanted to have a mythological touch to it, so the strings represent the ancient-greek myth about the Norns - beings that decided for how long one should live, tying and cutting the strings of one's fate... Well, I tried to show it that way
I noticed that too, that is a very interesting mythology. I just wasn't sure about the name of the Norn in English so I wrote nothing. But that truly shows in here.
